The Association Gay Swim Amsterdam (GSA), based in Amsterdam, is the organizer of LoveSwim and responsible for the processing of personal data as set out in this privacy statement.

Personal data that we process
GSA processes your personal data due to your registration for LoveSwim and the data you provide to us for this purpose. Below you will find an overview of the personal data that we process insofar as provided to us:

  • First and last name
  • Bank account number
  • Gender
  • Telephone number
  • Email address.

GSA processes your personal data for the following purposes:

  • Handling your payment for LoveSwim
  • Sending newsletters and information about LoveSwim
  • Contacting you by phone or email if necessary to organize LoveSwim
  • Informing you about changes regarding LoveSwim
  • GSA analyzes your behavior on the website to improve the website and tailor the range of products and services to your preferences.
  • GSA also processes personal data if we are legally obliged to do so, such as data we need for our tax return.

GSA does not retain your personal data for longer than is strictly necessary to achieve the purposes for which your data is collected.

Sharing personal data with third parties

GSA only uses technical and functional cookies, and analytical cookies that do not infringe on your privacy. The cookies we use are necessary for the technical functioning of the website and your user experience. They ensure that the website works properly and, for example, remember your preferred settings. They also allow us to optimize our website. You can opt out of cookies by configuring your internet browser so that it no longer stores cookies. Additionally, you can delete all information previously stored via your browser settings.

Viewing, modifying, or deleting data

You have the right to view, correct, or delete your personal data. In addition, you have the right to withdraw any consent for data processing or to object to the processing of your personal data by GSA, and you have the right to data portability. This means that you can submit a request to us to send the personal data we hold about you in a computer file to you or to another organization named by you. You can send a request for access, correction, deletion, or transfer of your personal data, or a request for withdrawal of your consent or objection to the processing of your personal data to info@gayswimamsterdam.nl.

To ensure that the request for access was made by you, we ask that you send a copy of your proof of identity along with the request. In this copy, black out your passport photo, MRZ (machine readable zone, the strip of numbers at the bottom of the passport), passport number, and Citizen Service Number (BSN). This is to protect your privacy. We will respond to your request as soon as possible, but within four weeks.

How we secure personal data?

GSA takes the protection of your data seriously and takes appropriate measures to prevent misuse, loss, unauthorized access, unwanted disclosure, and unauthorized modification. If you feel that your data is not properly secured or if there are indications of misuse, please contact us via info@gayswimamsterdam.nl.

Special and/or sensitive personal data that we process

Our website and/or service does not intend to collect data about website visitors who are younger than 16 years old. Unless they have permission from parents or a guardian. However, we cannot verify whether a visitor is older than 16. We therefore advise parents to be involved in their children’s online activities to prevent data about children from being collected without parental consent. If you are convinced that we have collected personal data about a minor without that permission, please contact us via info@gayswimamsterdam.nl, and we will delete this information.
