On July 24, 2026, we celebrate the 10th edition of LoveSwim – the most colorful queer swimming event of the summer. During World Pride Amsterdam, with the theme Unity, we bring LGBTQ+ people, allies, and swimming enthusiasts from all over the world together in the water.
A safe haven for everyone
Gay Swim Amsterdam (GSA) started as an association for gays and lesbians, but has grown into a warm home for all genders and orientations. LoveSwim shows how swimming breaks down barriers: whether you are a seasoned swimmer, participating for the first time, or just coming to watch – everyone is welcome. For many, particularly from countries where LGBTQ+ rights are under pressure, LoveSwim is a place to breathe freely and to show who they are.
What can you expect?
- Swimming distances for every level, including the iconic 250-meter Extravaganza. Performances by Ritchie Lahnstein, Ryann, and DJ Natarcia.
- Spectacular shows: synchronized swimming demos and a mermaid demo.
- A festive atmosphere where sportsmanship, fun, and visibility take center stage.
We invite swimmers from all over the world to participate – because LoveSwim is a sporting connection between all residents and visitors of Amsterdam who have a warm heart for the LGBTQ+ community.
